Flipping and Finishing

Once fiberglass sheathing is complete the waterline is struck, the hull is released from the floor and flipped upside-right. Then begins the process of fairing the inside of the planking and frames in preparation for interior painting.

The Artisan Boatworks crew who built the hull are pictured from left to right, below: Ian Bruce, Alec Brainerd, Jerry Borowski, and James Kimmetts; owner Yarrow Thorne and designer Ezra Smith are pictured with WHIRLWIND II’s finished and
painted hull.
